Kenneth Richard

Kenneth Richard, a long-time friend of Todd Scott, brings over 30 years of mentorship experience and activism to the We Rise program. A retired Baltimore City police officer and a current law enforcement officer with the State of Maryland, Kenneth has a wealth of community knowledge and insight. In addition to his extensive law enforcement career, Kenneth has held various positions focused on youth development and support, including Program Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Maryland. He is also a co-founder of the Baltimore Police Athletic League, The Man’s Plan program, and The Baltimore Panthers (an AAU youth basketball organization). Kenneth joins the We Rise program hoping to effect positive change within the communities that seem most impacted by violence, poverty, and neglect.

Martin McCrea

Originally from Washington DC, Martin McCrae has stayed local to the DMV area and serves as a financial analyst for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Martin and Todd met through their involvement in the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at Morgan State University, where Martin received his bachelor’s degree in Economics. Martin also holds a master’s degree in Management of Information Systems from Bowie State University. He brings over 30 years of financial analysis experience to We Rise and strongly believes in its mission and vision. Bruce Smith

Bruce Smith spent his working career both as a United States Postal Service member and a real estate professional. Recently retired from his position with the Post Office after 31 years of service, Bruce continues to pursue his career in real estate sales and investment in the Atlanta, Georgia area. In addition to his professional work, Bruce has been very involved in youth mentorship through his church, focusing on helping young African-American men acquire the skills they need to be respected, responsible members of the community. After developing a friendship with Todd Scott through church, Bruce helped introduce Todd to the real estate industry. He is excited to be involved with the We Rise program as it grows in Baltimore.

Gregory Smith

Born and raised in Baltimore City before moving to the Gwynn Oak area as a youth, Gregory Smith graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1986. As a teenager in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Greg wrestled in High School and fell victim to the streets as a youth. Incarceration in 1990 really changed his life. A bible study, which started in prison, and the assistance given by Major Robert E. Clay and Congressman Elijah Cummings, started Greg on his path to recovery and future success. With the help of these caring persons, Greg received a 15 year suspended sentence. From the SBA B.O.S.S program, thanks to Congressman Cummings, Greg went on to start a Pipette Calibration company in 1998. At the time, he was the only Black-owned Pipette Calibration company in the Tri-state area. Since then, Greg has gone on to open several other businesses, all in the concrete, decorative concrete, and concrete coatings industry. Greg currently owns Armor Prep Coatings, LLC, in 2015. Greg has a satisfied customer base that includes the US Navy Parachute Competition team, The Gaylord National Harbor, MGM Casino, Napa Auto Parts Distribution Center, Jersey Mikes Subs, and hundreds of residential and commercial customers. Greg’s mission is to help youth and anyone looking for a career change find success through the concrete coatings and decorative concrete industry. Although financial security is the goal of many, Greg believes that success is not always measured by the height of your bank accounts. Success is, and should, be measured by your ability to take care of yourself and your family comfortably, and more importantly, how many lives you impact along the way.
